@2WD - >>>get a Custom Legend 1769,DiMeola model<<<

Question-- are all produced of that model black in color?? I don't recall seeing one that isn't.

+1 with moody, there was also a 1769ADII-4 natural nutmeg finish but the ones you always see pictures of Al playing are the 5 black color
here's a 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTikP6bYqpg

I've had them all uncased in the living room last few days.
Can't come up with one I want to part with.
Screwed.

Take that back. I've got a beater Pacemaker.
She had gouges and finish cracks when I first got her. Drop filled everything I could.
She's sound and plays well.
Hard case.
Anyone want her?
Just pay shipping.
PM me.

Message sent. I would love to have another Pacemaker. Best 12-er I have ever played, hands-down.

Every guitar deserves some love! Thanks for the approbation, arumako. There is something magical, to me, about these 12-fret-12-strings, with the deep, booming bodies. Just wish I had more talent & expertise. I can provide TLC, though. And, yes, this is a very special place.

Been out of town and signal range.. back now.. and sending thanks to those who answered my question about the black (or not) AD 1769's. Black is the only color I have ever seen one.. but as Moody said, there was a natural -4 model.. and that is something I will definitely keep on my wish list.

Congrats seesquare! Jonmark Stone, that's an amazing post! I am actually shocked, this place must be the friendliest all over the whole web!! RE OP's question. I always feel guilty about having too much guitars that don't get played, so I am down to 2 telecasters, a solid wood Epiphone acoustic and 2 Ovations, a 1613 and a 1614. Wanted list: a Peacemaker, a 1624 and a beater 1614 - yes, I am too scared that something may happen to my beloved Folklore.

I live like this:

The cases are banned in the basement. We live in a 70m² rented appartment, thus my (heroic) spouse has to live with all this. And there are 2 guitars in my workshop...and the travel guitar in the closet. And the 1913s "schrammel" (on the right, not to be seen on this pic). The other intruments are hanging in the corridor.

I have an old Matrix that's pretty beat up but the frets are still OK. I got it for $75 along with a Yamaha that needed a neck repair. I don't play it much (I prefer my Country Artist), but every time I take it down, I'm impressed with how great it sounds. I keep telling myself that someday I'll replace the neck with a wooden one.

I had the opportunity to refret a Matrix neck, in the "cowboy chords" section. It took some careful work with a hacksaw blade, ground to standard fret tang requirements, then installed the new fretwires, leveled the fret tops, & renewed an old warrior to continuing services. The instrument was last reported floating down a nearby river, but that's another story.

I used to see Ovation necks on ebay in the $90 range, I looked today and they're $220 to $250.

I'm hip, Bob. Being frugal & fearless, refretting an aluminum neck was a calculated risk. The other issue of neck replacement is finding the neck with the correct scale length, regardless to cost. This diversion of topical content is verging on BFLG territory, anyway. If you're serious about getting a wood neck, send up a kite to the membership. Maybe, one of our brethren has one in their surplus supplies.

Pacemaker is on it's way to seesquare. I also gave one of my Viper's to my grand-nephew.
So I'm down 2 since I started this thread!
Maybe I'll sell a couple more and buy Bill's slothead. Probably a better investment than my stocks at the moment...

During the 2000's, when the OFC was fairly new, like StandingOvation, I wanted all the cool guitars. Now not so much. I am down to 7, but one is always in a case due to room on the walls. I'm wondering if one more guitar should go. Never used to think like that but then I'm 20 years older than I was when I joined the OFC (March 2002). Needs, desires, priorities all change.........

The Pacemaker has made the journey to its new caretaker. I am humbled by Jonmark's generosity, & very appreciative. I am letting the guitar settle in for a few days, before tuning it up. It really is a lovely & well-maintained instrument and will receive continued good care.
In keeping with the season, I am blessed, & pass on those blessings & good wishes to all our members. Be well & happy- it beats the alternative, all-to-heck!

To that end does anybody want a Celebrity nylon string ,it never gets played here
New owner pays shipping and the guitar is all yours
