I'm looking for a 1685 or 1688. As you know 12-string, deep bowl, acoustic/electric, any color. My dad played one for years and now that he's passed we're keeping his at the family home (for now) and I'd like one with me in the meantime.

I see a lot of you lucky folks with 1685s and 1688s in your signature so if you're looking to trim the collection please let me know!

Please and thanks.

My dad's for reference.

Good luck. Mine would be one of the last guitars I'd ever sell.......

Right day, right time, right place. Dave is a good guy to do business with and he'll charge a fair price. Let us know how it goes.

Hi team Ovation; first things first: you are all so kind. Thank you.

Second, thanks to u/Standingovation for the offer of a really (and I mean really!) beautiful 1688. Upon reflection though, I realized would like to hold out for a 1685 after all, at least for a while, so the search continues. #CantFightSentimentality

Dave and I have plans to meet up in May on my next visit to family in his area should things change.

There are a few on eBay but, being Japanese listings, their prices are a bit out of whack (though I have messaged questions to one just to see)...regardless I have a feeling the right guitar will come along when the time is right. If you see one do please let me know!

In the meantime I'll keep beating away on my Elite 1858; it can take it...
