Original Josh White guitars don't come to the market very often. I'd like to let one of mine go to a good home where it will be loved and played. This guitar is not a reissue, it's an original s/n 2471 and in really fine condition.

Old shiny bowl models from this era typically have issues with lacquer cracks, shrunken binding at the waist, delaminated rosette, etc. This guitar has NONE of that. Neck set is perfect, neck is strait, frets are good, no cracks from corners of the bridge, top is smooth with no checking, inlayed rosette is perfect. It is a SOLID "A" from the front side. There are a few nicks and marks on the back (maybe call it a "B") but it's just pretty minor cosmetic stuff described in detail and photos below.

This guitar plays like a dream and has that tone that made the early Ovations head-turners. Comes with the original case which I'll have to dig out. I don't recall if it was a Lifton case or an early Brown one.

FEATURES:
o Original shiny bowl
o Spruce top with no cracks, or defects smooth and beautifully finished and aged
o X brace pattern
o Inlaid flush rosette with no peeling or lifting
o 5 point bridge and no lifting issues
o 5 ply body binding with no shrinking or lifting
o 12 fret neck with 1-3/4 nut width and minimal fret wear
o 14 degree headstock angle and thick lip
o Josh White signature down the center of the slotted peghead
o Engraved open gear tuners
o Strap button on bottom of heel (I added this)
o Paper label with model Josh White (no model number)
o Serial number 2471 dates it as mid 1967 to mid 1968
o Case is included













SMALL COSMETIC ISSUES.
None of these are structural or effect the play or sound of the guitar in any way but I want to be 100% up front about everything that I see.

Below Left: Small ding on neck about 3 mm in size which I don't even feel or notice.
Below Right: Small nicks on headstock slot and small area of lacquer missing. If I was keeping this guitar I would simply touch it up with clear nail polish



Below Left: I had to find just the right angle to photograph the bowl. At quick glance it looks like a spider crack in the bowl, but rest assured the bowl is perfectly fine (look inside the guitar). These are simply surface cracks in the hard coat paint which you can slightly feel with your fingers, but pose no structural issue.
Below Right: Small lacquer nick on the edge of the ear which could easily be touched up with clear nail polish



Below: A few white scuff marks or scratches on the bowl. These would be tough to touch up.

Nope, nothing wrong ... I've got a fixed number of hangers in the music room and anything more than that needs to go. Of course I COULD just buy more hangers, ha ha.

I'm trying to weed out some of the duplicates.

Nope, nothing wrong ... I've got a fixed number of hangers in the music room and anything more than that needs to go. Of course I COULD just buy more hangers, ha ha.

I'm trying to weed out some of the duplicates.




Good to know your just moving extras along
If you don't have enough hangers for all your 12 strings there's a couple cool ones on your site I'd love to own

Empty guitar cases don't need to be stored in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.

Wow, love that storage!

Just before Covid I moved to a new house which has almost zero storage. It is a fantastic house in an amazing location, set up for lots of family visitors. My wife designed the house, which could be in a magazine it is so beautiful. But no storage space aside from closets or under beds.

We are having a mezzanine erected in the garage, which is where my cases will end up.

That are 25 Ovation cases and about 10 others (Fender, PRS, LAG, Höfner, etc.).

Location: Boise, Idaho		Like FlySig, we downsized a few years ago to a house without a basement and with little storage. It's not a great location, but has a 4 car garage and a large bonus room, which is my part of the house. I converted some wasted space in the attic above the garage for the storage of my cases. The only downside is that it's dusty up there and it's difficult to go up and down the pull-down stairs, especially with a guitar case in hand. I lost a friend years ago to a fall from his garage attic and I'm really concerned about them. I keep a couple of soft cases for an acoustic and an electric in a closet nest to my room for when I need to take a guitar out.

Location: Germany, where delicious wine is growing (Rheinh)		Well, it is in my little "home office" in the very upper floor under the roof. On the right side of the picture , you can see parts of a ladder I use to come up to the cases.
In my music room I have 3 cases I use for taking the guitars I use for playing outside with some friends. That works great and I'm happy with that.

Location: When??		Bernie.. you never fail to continue shocking my unshockable senses! That is a great storage row. I still sometimes awaken from sweet dreams of your Ovation collection in the wedge. You have a very interestingly-shaped life space!

No interesting pitch in my ceilings since my studio is on the ground floor in an office building. Four rooms (5 counting the isolation booth), with a kitchenette and private bath. I totally love the place. We can go down there at night and rattle the joint like crazy with no one around (though more conservative in daytime hours). Its own closet isn't very big, and is full of gear anyway, but the real bonus is a sizable phone line junction room down the main hall which is where I stash cases and a few amps. No one goes in there, and the hallways are interior secure. I have a feeling that the fire department would rule it out on an inspection... however, a few years ago the city ran short on fire cash and let us start self-inspecting our own floors and wings (with a $430 report fee, of course), so I guess my share of the fee amounts to case storage until the inspectors come creeping back around. At that point I suppose it will all go into the dusty garage attic alongside ice coolers and camping gear.
