Maybe someone here would love to give her a new home:

I think no more pics needed, you all know what it is.

I´m asking 2800.-Euro plus shipping  , feel free to make offers. The guitar is flawless, has just the little red bug like my other Adamas:-),

Yes it is one of my best guitars, and my best Ovation. But I have a new passion - double neck guitars, and I´ve just bought my 3rd one and I do spent 90% of my playing time with these. And besides that I prefer 12strings since I was 14...

It´s nr.54. As far as I know this one once belonged to Karl.

I've played this guitar several times. Karl and I are friends now for a long time, I have some guitars from him and he has guitars from me....
This guitar is a stunning one in sound and projection, I have loved it. BUt I have OFC-1 No. 10 from Karl and it is not far from this one. May
be the acoustic only version has a bit more "sparkle", but the OFC version has the FET-stereo Preamp, I love and which I use very much.

I had a number of several 1687´s which I really regarded as "supertones" but this guitar beats all of them. I guess it´s the completely different top bracing (similar to my Adamas 2008 C). It´s very much lighter than the old originals and has this weird transversal center brace which is built like a bridge. And the guitar is extremely light. And no pickup destroys the contact of bridge and top.
My only problem with this wonderful guitar is that the instrument was designed to vibrate to the max, but this is only perfectly workling when the guitar is tuned with standard tuning, may be with a dropped D E-string. But I love to play with many strange opentunings, some of them very low, and this is not the guitar´s excellence. I found out that wood topped guitars are better for this stuff. When in tune, the guitar sings like a bell or roars like being amplified, but it will never become really "my guitar". Sigh. This is really too bad, I had been looking for this guitar for years.
But noone want to have it so I will play bravely standard tune with it - and happy.

Detlef I'm surprised no one has bought this its such a stellar instrument,I think this is not a good year to sell guitars with all the coronavirus/covid19 uncertainty and people losing jobs,I was just laid off for the second time this year hopefully not for to long.
I own No.15 but if I had the free cash I'd buy this one too,if you have any interest in trades I have many 12 strings I know you'd like and would offer a couple in trade for this lovely Adamas.
How about a Custom Legend 1158 12 fretter and an Adamas 1685 cutaway 12 string

Old thread, but if the guitar is still available I'd be interested to hear from the OP.

Still available.
Sometimes I don´t understand the world. I was chasing for years for this guitar and now noone wants it.

This is one of the best guitars ever, but simply not my guitar. It has NOTHING to do with the quality, it´s just my hands.

Hello. Could you tell me if the armrest is detachable without marring the finish? Thank you.

Should be, it´s fixed with tape.
But the armrest is very reasonable and gives a brighter sound!

There was so much wailing and gnashing of teeth about the small red bug that I decided to remove it and re-built the gap in the wood with a piece of walnut and renew the carvings.
I will post pics when it´s done.

Wow that is like the ultimate Adamas for me, when I saw the asking price I thought this was just a regular one that's why I had to ask. If I did not already have a 1687 I sure would jump on this.

This was for me the ultimate, last, dream guitar from Ovation and that´s why I´m so sad that I did not find the right way to really get in touch with it. It´s impossible to explain or to believe, because it´s a one-of-10000 guitar, but sometimes strange things happen.
You all must think I`m completely insane, but I can´t help it.

I had the 3rd OFC I guitar built. Essentially a blue #47 with 2 knobber electronics. Had it for 9 years and sold it. It was a really great guitar but I never really bonded with it. Sometimes that happens. I understand......

Same here, Paul. Always loved the Ute's that I've heard and had the pleasure to play and finally got a chance to pick one up off a member. Was excited as hell to open it up and THEN?...Just couldn't appreciate it. It was a GREAT guitar but not in my hands. (Leave it alone, Moody...). Sold it AND regret it but would make the same call today. To bring this back home, I've also had the pleasure of playing a few of the 47RI's produced and not ONE of them was anything less than a superior guitar. I'd have to lay serious odds that the new owner of this guitar will be more than thrilled with the deal they got.
