Hi Folks,

I am new to this site and joined because I got a 1967 - 1968 Deluxe Balladeer, that I want to get an idea of what its worth and maybe find a home for it to someone who loves ovation. I am not that knowledgeable about guitars. I emailed Ovation customer support to determine the age and this is the response I got back:

This guitar is one of the first guitars that Ovation produced and is a pretty rare guitar.  The 1990 is the serial number, which means this guitar was produced from 1967-1968.  This was during the time that Ovations were built at the original Kaman location in Bloomfield, CT before the operation was set up in New Hartford, CT

I thought that was great of them to get back to me and they sent me a bunch of links to learn more about the guitar! Anyway this guitar does have a few condition issues. There is a crack in the body, some damage to the ring around the opening and some dings and scratches on the back.  But any input you guys have would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Tim

I was having trouble uploading photos on the forum, so I am hoping this way will work.

I do not know the "value" of your guitar... Anywhere from $50 to Priceless.
But only a few people can respond in the Welcome Center.
So, you have been upgraded to a "member".
You may now post in other sections of the Ovation FanClub.

Welcome.
