Location: Manchester, NH | We just bought my wife a used Ovation 1111-4. We know that is a Balladeer. We are trying to determine the date of manufacture and there seems to be a hole in the serial numbers list. Our ser# is 007693 - I think this is a 1973 but those numbers are missing from the list. The shop we bought it from thought it was a mid 80's number.
It is in great condition, non electric, has the metal looking badge in the bowl with the model and Ser#.
Any info would help.

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | You seemed to figure it out. I should put something there that states that. We just don't have confirmation like we do with the other years.
If the number doesn't match any other year, and the number DOES fit into the only missing range of numbers, and that range is in 1973, I think it's a pretty safe bet to say 1973. |
