Boring backstory - my wife bought this guitar for me for my 60th birthday 13 years ago. It has sat in its then brand new Ovation case with humidifier unplayed all this time. It breaks my heart to sell this magnificent instrument, but I must face reality!

Model 1618 - Glen Campbell 40th Anniversary 12 String - original strings

The instrument is in LIKE NEW condition and comes with the case (NOTE: the case does have one white rub mark on it from my wall) AND with the Certificate of Authenticity signed by the great Mr. Campbell. The guitar even has the original factory serial number hang tag.

I am asking $2,250.00 which will include fully insured shipping anywhere served by the USPS. I would FAR PREFER selling locally (I am in zip code 20832 and will gladly deliver to 20850 or 20877 areas) in which event, I will subtract the $250. Another reason for selling locally is my own bad experience with a 12 string that was coming apart. I KNOW I am honest, but it is much better for the prospective buyer to physically see the guitar!

I will accept payment through PayPal or CASH, if in person. I've been offered fake money orders and fake "certified" checks before. I will NOT accept either.

Please ask questions if you are interested. Write to my email address for more photos!

I am VERY grateful to OFC for allowing me to sell this fine instrument to someone who WILL appreciate it!

These are VERY nice guitars (I previously had one) and would be a great addition to anyone's collection.

Bernie,

Let me know if you have any questions or want to see more photos. Write to my email address.

I just realized that you are in Germany. That presents an enormous problem! When last I sold an Ovation, I was asked about some tree ecology permission. My government DOES provide the permission although I do not know if THIS guitar is old enough to qualify, but the problem is that you cannot get the permission in ADVANCE of foreign sale. AND, it takes around 3 months to get the permission once requested!

But if you know someone in the U.S. who could/would buy it for you, that works!

Arthur

Hmmmm.. I dunno. I mean, after seeing Bernie's O & A collection, and knowing his amazing craftsmanship (I swear, he could make a guitar out of a bowl of pudding), it would seem to me that he would be one to go to great lengths to get what he wants in his stable (do it Bernie.. do it!).

LOL, I'll NOT go for it, that was only "loud thinking". My 1615 has new gold Schaller machine heads and is upgreated with the kidney electronics incl. a XLR output and...... it sounds fantastic with that!!! I just played it and it will NOT leave my stable.
Sorry Arthur!

The most cruel fate for any guitar: unplayed all this time...

None of the woods used for this guitar interfere with CITES regulations. And shipping to Germany is no Problem, what do you think where I got my Martins, Taylors and Ovations.

LeonardMccoy, you are RIGHT - one reason I want to sell!
DetlefMichel, are you saying that I do NOT need to obtain CITES clearance? Isn't the fretbaord ebony or another endangered wood?

The CITES regulations have changed, they had been al little too hysterical, I had to declare even TUNER KNOBS made of Indian rosewood, but this has ended.

Your guitar does not have parts of Brazilian rosewood and all other wood parts are also no problem because of the weight which is only a few 100 grams.

I recently sold an acoustic guitar made of rosewood with no problems at all.
