Not that a heck of a lot of folks would be interested (I don't take it personally) but I finally got around to making a photo gallery of most of my ukulele collection. There's a few ovation/applause ukes in there.

Cool. On the front page, the Black Bear and the G-String share the same pic (but I do like the wood in the pics...)

When I sold the last Elite I had, the one where I hand painted fake epaulets on lower bout to hide a crack repair, I'll never forget the guy who came to buy it. He remarked that he didn't know much about Ovations but he'd never seen one before with a third epaulet in the middle of the lower bout. I didn't explain it to him since he'd readily committed to buying it. Then he asked if he could go out to his car and bring in his ukelele to show me. I wanted to scream NO! but he still hadn't handed me the money yet. Prior to this my only recollection of ukelele music was from grade school music class. I was certainly in for a treat! This dude could shred the thing with incredible jazz arrangements I could've listened to all day!

And do you find yourself partial to one particular size over the others?

Thanks for sharing your eclectic collection. The Collings' certainly rule but I find that Mele six string most intriguing. Here's a picture of my active ukes:

My pride and joy is a 2016, 100th Anniversary Kamaka baritone uke. It's a joy to behold and play. I also treasure my dad's vintage (circa 1956) Kamaka soprano. I've only seen a couple of Ovation ukes and never had the opportunity to play one. I've always wondered how the bowl back performs in such a small package.

I also have a Lanikai baritone and an Islander tenor. They're not as special as my Kamaka ukes but are good players. I've equipped all of them with Mi-Si pickups. I like them since they're battery-free and rely on an easily rechargeable capacitor for power.

I enjoy the baritone and I don't have to twist my brain into a pretzel to remember the chord names. Plus it adds a nice tone when I'm playing with my uke group.

Tough question ... the Kamaka tenor gets a lot of use and the maple Collings is pretty nice as well.

Yeah, I know (photo is of the Black Bear). The G-String is up in WI and I can't get photos until May. I've got some others that I need to take photos of as well.

I'm not sure. Do you have it? I do remember selling it a few years ago but lost track where it went. It was a really cool instrument. Had 5-Star geared banjo tuners on it.

A fine job Dave!
I honestly believe that Tiny Tim had to pass before anybody was willing to come out of the Ukulele closet!

They are fun and full of history!

I added the correct photos of the G-String ukulele.
