How does the tone of a 1719-30cm compare to a '70s 1619 CL?

I can't find a single video of the 1719-30cm online, and I love the way this 1619 sounds: https://youtu.be/0QcnbJdsh3s

Can anyone comment on how the 1719 would compare?

Hard to tell. I would guess that the CL in that video is being played thru it's p/u. It has chorus added? I had a 30th CL. Beautiful guitar but I sold it and kept my 87 Collectors because the 87C had more bass. The CL was very even from top to bottom. Nothing wrong with that. I just liked the 87C a bit more and one of them had to go.

I've always wondered if you can tell anything about how a guitar will sound in real life based on the typical youtube video, and especially how two guitars will compare to each other. There are so many variables involved, the recording technique, quality of recording equipment, environment, etc., not to mention what equipment the listener is using. I certainly wouldn't base any conclusions on the results of the typical, amateur Youtuber's video.

I always get a kick out of the videos that advertise themselves as a "review" but consist of nothing but someone strumming madly on a guitar with little or no commentary.

I had several 1619s, 1719s over the years, and I had one of these 1719-30s.
I must say that I use to play very light strings. The old 1619 for me was the best sounding, maybe one of the best sounding acoustic guitars ever. The 1719 was ok but I disliked the v-Neck.
My 1719-30 was the most beautiful of them all,but I don´t know what was wrong, I was so disappointed from the sound that I sold it. Maybe the guitar was over-braced? Or over-laquered? It had not the typical soft room-filling soung of a CL, I had to bring much more force on the strings to get the top moving. IMHO the best CL are the pre-K-bar 1619s, but that´s absolutely subjective.
