I had been eyeing an 80's Balladeer 12 string, and this was just the push I needed. I also contacted ovation, and they had me send pictures so they can quote the job. He used to work out of Old Boise Guitar until they closed that store. You should be able to find him under luthiers or guitar repair on the internet. I'm out of town for a couple weeks, but you can PM me and I'll try to help when I get back.

Dave did some work on an 83 Collector before I gave it to my daughter. Nothing major, but it looked new when it was done. He was praised the guitar. I always hate it when you take something in for repair and the repair person doesn't want to fix it and tries to sell you a new one. I also know someone who works on guitars for Guitar Center, but I don't know if he does much with acoustics or with bridge replacements.

"Left it in a hot trunk" was the explanation. The guy said they got in one or two a month come in during the summer. Some were repairable. Most, like that one, were not. The message: Don't leave kids, dogs OR guitars unattended in hot cars!

I had a Elite LX that threw a bridge ... ended up in Dallas and found a luthier there. He seemed more confident than me that he could fix it...it came back to me and you couldn't tell it had ever separated. It was a natural finish though. Of course Ovation is your best bet...but shipping will be shy of a couple hundred on top of the job. Give Marks' guy a call and see what your comfort level is. It is just a bridge separation...the X factor is, there is no center hole to clamp from.
