Just got an 2004 elite standard from GC
The preamp that’s in it is an OP-studio pro, which I believe indicates somebody has swapped out the OP-studio at some point in its life.

The battery light stays on all the time in or out of the guitar.
The guitar seems to work. Meaning the tuner, volume, tone adjustments all seem be responsive.

I am running a test right now starting at 2 PM Pacific time to see if this is something I can live with??

Searching the archives it seems that is a indication of a bad unit.

Question.
>Has anyone found a solution for a fix?
>Has anyone with the same issue just left the unit in, and ignored the red light.
And if so how long was the battery good?

odd you will need to yank the battery after every use or buy a brick of 9 vts

I have replacement preamps if you want to go that route

Thanks Alpep
I may do so.....but for now just letting it burn away

2pm update (24 hours)....device is still working but the red light shines on.
Note:
In my guitar orphan box found I another OP Pro Studio with the same exact issue....
So One is in the Guitar and one on my desk as part of the test....

It is with great sadness that Durcell 9 volt, formally associated with Elite Standard, was taken off life support expiring at 7:26 am this morning.
Given the onset of wonky tuning, volume, & tone adjustments the decision was made to conclude this thread.

Hi, I have two OP-PRO-STUDIO with the same problem. The red led stays on all the time , but everything else works perfectly . I did exclude the LED from a technical friend of mine . Only small problem: You no longer have a LED that lights up when the battery is low. How will you realize when the battery is low ? Simple, the guitar will no longer sound amplified...

Hello Titti.....Interesting.
Clarification please: what do you mean by "exclude the LED"

Anyway.... at this point I will just rename my guitar the "Roxanne" and live with it
