Location: East Tennessee | I recently purchased a Folklore model 1114 on ebay. It arrived in good shape and plays wonderful. I was going to put an undersaddle pickup in it and purchased one from Ovation. I then noticed something. The length of the existing saddle is only 2 5/8".
Normal saddle length is 3' on my other guitars. Is this something Ovation did for a while then discontinued ?
Sorry not a very good picture. |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | Mmm... The saddle on my 1121 is like that, and it is shorter than some of my others'...
Hard decision... You could return the pick-up, and ask about a shorter one.
Or you could get your Dremel tool out and lengthen the slot in the bridge.
I don't know if you can trim the pick-up, probably not.
The returning the pick-up sounds like the better idea. |

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | Hmmmm......brings up an interesting question. I just measured Ol' Josh, my '68 shinybowl, and the saddle is an even 3 inches. Now, it did make a trip to Elderly Instruments for some rehab (not on my watch, though), and still has the 5-point bridge. Was the original saddle slot 2 5/8"? |

Location: Boise, Idaho | My Matrix has a thinline that length, but the thinline with a pickup on the 99 Collector's is longer. |
