First, I realize that guitar/bass action is a very personal and subjective thing, depending on strings, playing style, volume desired, etc. Nevertheless, has anyone here had enough experience with Ovation acoustic basses to know what the default/factory action is at the 12th fret?

Thanks.

I never know what the factory action is. I always set my instruments up by feel.
generally I like them slightly higher than most.
I knew a guy that would keep the truss rod cover off and adjust the neck in mid song.....

I had an Elite B768 Bass and the action was ca.3mm on low E 12th fret. You may change it up to your personal playing style and the strings you use by changing the shims under the pickup. It´s just like with guitars...if you prefer a very straight neck you should choose a higher action, if you use a slightly warped neck less than 3mm will be enough, some bass players use 5mm or more...
