Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | You know how we always criticize the Ovation marketing efforts. After hearing an interview with Sting how about Martin, built him a guitar from "Smartwood" using wood from "forests managed in a sustainable and ecologically responsible manner". Well, aren't the Addams, and Ovations for that matter, the most ecologically responsible guitars made? Do you think Ovation could run with that marketing idea? |

Better Marketing Idea-- OVATIONS ARE FINE GUITARS! DON'T LIKE 'EM, DON'T BUY 'EM!
We don't need no steenking tree hugging Al Gore loving gimmicks!
BTW-- Rosewood is an endangered species. |

Location: Tychy, Poland | i don't think that making guitars from synthetic materials is more ecological than making them from wood.
Wood is somewhat infinite resource, because we can plant them and wait till they grow, and you can't plant oil. Not to mention that in process of creating such a syntenic structure there is a lot of greenhouse gas emissions.
i'd say if it comes to ecological aspect of building guitars, wooden guitars wins 10:0. |
