Hi, I have a 2006 LX Elite. I noticed the other day that when fretting above the 8th fret, that the high E string touches the frets and results in a dead/muted string.

Any ideas why and how to fix?

Without seeing the guitar it's hard to tell. Could be just a neck adjustment, bridge adjustment, neck reset, fret leveling or something that actually requires repair. A decent luthier should be able to diagnose easily.
