Hi all,
My name is Diego and I'm from Spain.
I just bought a white Ovation Viper, around here it is not very usual to see them and I have some doubts.
The first is about the type of wood of the body, this guitar weighs 4.5 kg (9.9lb), it could be a body of mahogany.
The guitar as I have seen is built between 1975-1980 according to the serial number E + 5 digits, someone has bounded more by series numbers the years?
The next is that he has a tuner replaced by another totally different one. The Schaller M6 nylon are adapted to this guitar, I mean the screw holes?
And finally I want to know if the brown hardcase of this Viper model is the same as the UK model ii.

Greetings, thank you, sorry for so many questions and hope someday help and not bother so much.

I self-answer

The tuners Schallers M6 Nylon (not mini version) are perfect to install.
The "only problem" is to change the Schaller logo for the Ovation logo, but I did it and it's quite simple.
Warm up very little water until it boils and submerge the black part of the tuner for 30 seconds, then hit the tuner part through the rope (the hole) and the sheet fell.

A greeting.
