I've seen pics of these before but a camera just cannot do justice to seeing and holding the real thing in your hands,I had been wanting a 1687 but I just one upped myself and got what many to be one of the finest guitars produced by ovation, and without further ado PICS. Behold the slot-headus joys of ancient Charliedom; And the angels sang. His blood and bone became partaken of crusted ramen as lesser men rejoiced; And the angels sang. Stand uniquely yonder, ye of fortune. Enshroud in glory; And the angels sang.

Detlef:I know you like customizing your guitars what do you think ebony buttons!!!The 1187 is acoustic only and one of my lightest guitars and I'm all for no pickup in this model the resonance is amazing. Arumako:If I get up the courage to video my mediocre playing skills I'll see if I can get you a sample. LOF:What can I say your poetry didn't already express,if your ever in my neighborhood stop by l share my toys OMA:You might have to sell quite a few of your toys to get one but it would be worth it shes probably worth any 2 of my other 6 strings and the crowning achievement of my collecting. I turned 2 of my old Ovation CL into acoustics... No, not ebony, only for the black Adamas! This guitar has no black appointments. There are lots of wonderful possibilities for Schaller machines. I would choose wood knobs made of walnut, red cedar or mahogany, best which would match the colour of the wood used for the neck. Or, if someone may have some, Gold engraved....rare to find, maybe from Martin old stock...to make it short, only the best!! Edited by DetlefMichel 2018-12-22 8:42 AM

Detlef:The Acoustic only early models have killer tone,my 68 balladeer 12 string is a monster. I was thinking ebony buttons to go with the graphite strip down the back of the neck but engraved gold would be awesome,Nancy has a 1687 with fancy gold tuners that are gorgeous. I have them in Ebony with abalone sides on my Custom Legend Slothead. They are looking even more spectacular... http://www.ovationfanclub.com/megabbs/photos/show-album.asp?albumid... Bernie

These are the finest I could find: Walnut with real MOP...... But congrats, wonderful instrument!! Bernie Bernie, Those are the same ones I have on my 1719 Anniversary! They are Gorgeous! Detlef had shared the name of the makers with me, they are from Germany, and they have allot of Incredible Tuner Buttons! I can't find the name of the Makers right now, maybe Detlef remembers? I have the Gotoh 510 Gold Engraved tuners on my Teal Adamas I, and boy howdy do they look sharp, but those are pegs, not like 47-RI's. And I have the Sterling Eagle buttons on my Flag Custom Legend, those came in Gold Colored, but I believe he has gone out of business, shame, he sure had some Gorgeous Designs. And Gold Engraved Waverly's on Hawk, but again, those are all Pegged Tuners, not just the buttons. I did find some INCREDIBLY Beautiful ones, I will have to look for that site again for you!! Handmade, inlaid with shell, in different patterns... Here we go! Here are the ones from Germany!! http://www.crazyparts.de/hailwood/tunerbuttons/index.php Edited by Nancy 2018-12-23 9:10 PM
