Just out of pure curiosity, does anyone know the origin of the 3 sided shapes that are used as the fret markers on some models such as my (soon to arrive) new 2078AX

Can't wait to see answer. I wondered about this as well. Kinda odd shapes.

I've thought that, too. Kind of like dots or diamonds for standard or custom on the old Balladeers.. and diamonds or snowflakes on the Legends. Like anything else, if ya want the upper bling ya gotta buy the upper product.

TBH, I thought they looked like the front end of the Space Shuttle. My thinking was aeronautical like the origins of the guitars.

Obviously, their actual origins will continue to be a mystery

And, IIRC, I recall reading somewhere where Beal had said the Adamas markers were inspired from a piece of jewelry (necklace ?) that belonged to someone close.

That's good info, thanks Paul!

I always liked the orientation of these markers on the Longnecks, or, as well, aon the German Special models:

Have a nice christmas,

Hey,Love Affair,

Cleaning wound strings has a weird history for sure. When I played heavy metal, back in the day, I wiould boil mine in vinegar for at least 15 minutes, on the kitchen stove. My dear late Mom kept wondering, "Where did all my vinegar go?!" Oops.

Hello Kurt!

Though not having looked at its photos for a while, I remember it well and still fancy the look of that guitar!

And it sounds even better than it looks! The Engelmann really does its job on this guitar.

Best regards,
Kurt
