Looking at this C2058AXP-STB model. Where is is made? Anyone familiar? Better suggestions? I think used Pacemakers are aging and harder to find in good shape, so I think I may try buying new. What's your feedback?, I know you are the experts.

If they don't brag that it was "Made in the USA", it wasn't. Also remember when they say "exotic veneer", that means plywood. They say it has "a premium AAA grade solid-spruce top" but they stuck some "veneer" on it. "Panel-Master" as Beal would say. I have owned some nice sounding "laminate" top guitars, but I didn't pay a thousand bucks for them. So I would search for somewhere to actually Play the guitar before buying it... Or be sure that you buy from someone with a generous return policy. I understand that it might be hard to find a Pacemaker in good shape. But beater 1115's don't cost near as much, either. Good Luck in your Search.

So it isn't totally plywood like an entry-level Celebrity, but it is a "veneer". But still. There are still other NEW Korean Ovation 12-strings that do not have a veneer on the top. I am sure that MF, GC, and Sweetwater have some.

Here is the link to the web page if you want to look. http://www.ovationguitars.com/guitars-twelve-strings/C2058AXP-STB I wonder about the top, though, but if you believe AAA rating it should be clear but probably has some slight discoloration as Sitka has sometimes or maybe wider grain than they would normally use on a natural top. Chances are that the top would be one that they might could use on a sunburst, which really doesn't matter for structural integrity or strength. And, there is a 1973 1115 for 600 on Reverb. It looks in very good condition (no cracking) but the seller doesn't list the string action or bridge saddle height. Edited by clrules 2018-09-28 9:56 PM

If you can find an 1158/ 1658 Custom Legend you will find that this is even better, way better. These are very rare to find but you should definetely watch out for one, if you find one,GRAB IT. Quite often you can find 1759 Custom Legend 12string guitars, these are very fine instruments also, but 14-fretters. They have bolt-on necks which makes it very easy to make adjustmensts if neccessary. Not necessary to mention that the best 12string guitar of all times is the 1688 Adamas. If you find one..... These are the easiest playable of all 12string guitars. I had so many, but what is left after all these years are my CL and my Adamas.
