Played one at one of the factory tours a few years back and have been jonsing for one ever since. It's a crime this could be the last batch. If anyone is on the fence, don't be. Absolutely fantastic instruments.

I've wanted one of theses since before they decided to make them. I talked with Kim and John several times, hoping to build one with a cobalt blue top, abalone purfling, and tortoise binding...among other things. That dream died when Fender filled their dumpster off the loading dock.

So when DW put the Adamas mando on the line, my hope rose again. You all know the feeling: "Maybe someday." But right now, I'm struggling to figure out how to keep the ones I have, so there's no way I can even consider buying one.

Here's hoping everyone that gets one appreciates it for what it truly is.

Mine arrived today from Al ...

I am not a mando player per se, so can hardly do this justice. But I know a great sounding instrument when I hear one and I know a quality instrument when I hold it in my hands. This baby ticks both of those boxes and then some.

I'll try to take some photos this weekend. Some nice things I did not expect: walnut adamas neck with wooden fretboard inlays, and no pre-amp just the FET straight output (ala FD14) which is super nice because my previous complaint with ovation mandos was that the big pre-amp box took up half the cavity volume of the darn bowl and killed the unplugged sound. But not so with this adamas, you still have great plugged in capability but you gain back the full body volume which no doubt is part of the reason it sounds so damn nice. The overall look, feel, and quality are TOP NOTCH.

If you are sitting on the fence, I would urge you to not delay delay. Note sure how many of these were ever made but it can't be too many.
