This is on it's way. Looking forward to giving it a go.

Anyone with the 98 5741 that can give me a length measurement? Shopping for a gig bag.

About 41-42 inches.

Good score.

Thanks Arthur.
Noticed your parlor this morning. Since this is going to be a worker, was specifically looking for the 98 with the 14 fret neck, paddle headstock and OP24 pre. This may get retopped down the road. I've taken a number at Dan's mod shop.
Good luck with your sale.

I just took my 5741 for a walk around the block, since I had pulled it out to measure it.
Mine is a nice guitar for it's age. It sounds good.
I also like the preamp, even if I don't care for the E-tuner.
That tuner will work in a pinch if you have left your Snark at home.
But I like the OP-24+ features and power.

Nice!

I picked up this one's twin about a month ago.

I received the guitar today. Undervalued and reviewed by the seller. It's in near perfect condition.

I'll admit to a certain amount of snobbery here... bottom end/bass snobbery. I played an endorsers event in '97ish with Mark O’Connor and that was the only time I'd played an O parlor... up to now. I was dismissive then. As I said, all about the rumble then.

Now, I must say what a great accomplishment Beal and his team achieved with this instrument. Very distinct balanced voice.
Keeper.

If you "Savage" it, what would you do? Know that it is addicting. I play both my "Savaged" 1117 and 1113 everyday.

Way to go Jm. Good get.....

We discussed a torified top but at the time I was looking for a beater. We'll see what happens after I work with this a while. Sounds awfully good as is. And we all know Mother does the nicest bursts around.

Assuming that Mother is still around to do bursts when you're ready......

Not assuming anything. But... never know... been down for the count before.
Still love to have one of these with a suspended
ring and Adamas soundboard. I'd be the envy of all my friends.

I'd be the envy of all my friends.

...and complete strangers living half way around the world in the farthest eastern corner of the earth!
