According to a headline from the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), Gibson has filed for bankruptcy reorganization under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.

The filing by Gibson Brands, Inc. (Delaware) for ch. 11 bankruptcy won't affect the running of Gibson's business operation of manufacturing guitars at all. It's just a means to refocus their business, getting rid of their consumer electronics branch and one of the shareholders. Make no mistake: Gibson's shareholders have all the money in the world to steer course once the ship's sailing in the right direction.
