Hey friends,

I have been wondering what the second jack under Ovation current preamp chassis is for? It looks like a 2.5mm or 3.5mm minijack.

Nowadays it is very popular to add a second pickup to acoustic guitars. I wonder is that an spare, additional input for a secondary pickup?

Or is that an additional output jack? A control in, circuit tester in or some sort of dummy plug?

Picture was taken in my 2005 Adamas w597 with OP-50 preamp installed. But I also own (and owned) other Ovations with OP-Pro, VIP-5 and OP-40 installed, and I all see this mysterious jack beneath their preamp chassis.

Thanks,

Vincent

It's a pre-amp output socket. And in between there is an AUX IN socket (without any metal ring around it) .. see the Idea (pre amp) for dummies page for the best view of it.. http://www.ideafordummies.com/install.html

Thanks dvd. So are these jacks useful at all if I am not using IDEA? Can they somehow serve as aux output or input?
