Nothing to see here... Please resume your normal dreary lives It's funny that you say the seller sent you a picture that says its a "Genuine Fauxvation" I contacted the seller and the pictures he sent me of the label, headstock front and preamp all say "Adamas" and "ovation",The label is the standard printed one for that era and says "Adamas by Ovation",Contour Bowl,Model No. 2080,A KAMAN MUSIC PRODUCT-MADE IN NEW HARTFORD CT,USA From my reading online Ovation started a custom shop push in 2007 and made a number of special 2080's as well as offered buyers the option to customize there own,I would guess this is a custom 2080 with all cross-weave carbon fiber top and bowl, yes someone could have photoshopped the bowl but why? I am not a shill for the seller nor do I know him,I saw this guitar a few weeks ago when it was first listed on Reverb and thought "cool guitar" but didn't have the spare cash to grab it and thought the pictures lacked in being able to identify it,I will happily email anyone interested copies of the pictures sent to me. Shame on the person trying to deceive ovation fans by claiming it had a fake label!!!

I didn't think that anyone would believe that the tag would actually say "Fauxvation" or do I think anyone is living a dreary life. Or that my name is actually Juan Adumee. I have made an offer on the guitar, and if I am lucky enough to get it, I will surely share everything I can learn about it. If I don't, I hope one of you does!! Once again, I really am sorry to all who thought I was serious and I hope you can forgive me.

I do understand. I need to figure out how to make the emojis bigger. Sometimes that helps. I'll try keeping it strictly business.
My real name is Dean Gullberry by the way... Edited by Juan Adumee 2017-10-15 1:08 PM

Especially since you like it :-) I thought that Adamas's with the no-broccoli headstock had the 5 layer laminate neck. Is it an LX kind of neck?

Thanks TPA! And thank you to whomever fixed the photos! I am not familiar with the neck construction, so I can't answer your question with certainty. I can say that it appears to be virtually identical to my standard 2080's neck, other than having the Sperzel open back tuners.

Thank you Standing! One of the reasons why it is the "Wonder Adamas". The person I bought it from acquired it in Oregon only 7 months ago and had no other information on it.
I forgot to mention that the bracing appears to be different than my standard 2080. That guitar has a version of the "X" bracing. It is difficult to really see well on this guitar due to a lack of an access hatch, but it appears to have a fan pattern.
