| Hi guys, a month a go i bought an old ovation that carries two codes, the first one is 1111- (perfectly visible), the other one is 10449 a little bit concealed. In the lable there is written that it made in Usa in New Hartford. Could you help me to give it a date?
Actually i found an amazing sound in this guitar when played without the amplifier but i found it too electric when played with an amplifier.
I'm thinking about replacing the piezo with a schatter what do you think about it?

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | The 1111 Balladeer is an Acoustic guitar.
It did not leave the factory with a pickup.
HERE is a Serial Number Decoder.
Here is ANOTHER
Your guitar was probably made in 1970.

| Hi Old Man Arthur which of the code i sent you is the serial code? The seller told me that the guitar was not modified. It is an acoustic but i can use a jack. So are you sure it wasn't made like this?
Thank you |

Location: Keepin' It Weird in Portland, OR | I am just going by the Model Number.
1111 is the Model Number.
1111 is an acoustic-only Balladeer.
Usually, if an Ovation is acoustic-electric the second number will be a 6 or a 7.
A factory acoustic-only bridge is just slim and straight:
If your guitar has a Factory bridge pickup from the 1970's it will look like this:
If your guitar has a Wide Saddle installed, that is what the factory put in.
If you have photos on another site, like Photobucket, you can post the link here and we can go look at your guitar.
