I have owned at least one of these before.
When I was slumming with Celebrities this was top of the line for that brand.
Made in Korea, Solid top, gold-ish tuners (when they were new), OP-30 and an Original wide pickup.
I saw this and just had to grab it.

No case.... But came with a bunch of stuff for "padding"

(but what happened to my HAIR?)

New Toys are always Nice.

Lovely guitar with a beautiful burst. There's not much love here for the Korean models but I have to confess that I love mine and at the end of the day if your budget is limited then its nice to have options to buy a new Ovation.

Enjoy - it looks lovely!

I know that model. Looks like a good snag ya made there, Arthur. So is the slum better or worse than you remember it?

My previous one was New England Burst.
I did take the CSE44 out today, and it worked well. OP-30 Preamps always do.
It has a Solid Spruce Top, but that top is kinda thick. About 3/16" thick.
But it has good intonation and such. CSE's were that Top of the Budget line.

Wonderful sunburst! And the colour of the epaulets perfectly matches the paintwork. (Not all Ovations are so fine-tuned, very often the colours of the several guitar parts absolutely don´t mesh with each other).
What kind if inlays are in the fretboard? Appears to be abalone?
To make it perfect, I would replace the white plastic saddle on the pickup with the black one.

Nice pick-up OMA! The fret board extension doesn't look like the usual Celebrity Deluxe models at all. Those CSEs are pretty special and take home a pretty good price in auctions over here. They're like US Elites only assembled in Korea with glue-on necks instead of bolt-ons. Assembly consistency seems to be the determining quality factor. How does she compare in build quality to her NH counter parts?

What kind of bracing does she have?

It is a Celebrity. And a used one at that. But I have owned this, and two other CSE's that I am sure of, and they were all pretty nice. Like I said, the top seems a bit thick...
So it doesn't vibrate as freely as it could.
But for $235, it is okay. Plus I got it to plug-in to a battery-powered "CubeStreet" amp.
It has an OP-30 preamp which has more output than an OP-Pro.
But this CSE44 has a Wide "original" pickup, so I could swap an OP-Pro into it.
It is a nifty little guitar.
I still need to find that best Strings for it.

Quintad bracing... Or the Celebrity copy of such.
