Thanks PM... thought I had memorized O'tribute.
This could be an interesting alt sound in the studio. And a fun couch guitar.

OMG, I want it so bad, but alas no funds. Too bad this was not on the market last year

There are some incredible guitars for sale - who is this "Idaho Shop"?

I didn't notice that and never heard of it. I suspect Samuels might.

If Ovation still has that bowl mold, they need to bring it out and make some 6-string parlors... very cool indeed.

Leave it to Arthur to add another drop of catalyst into the mix. I like the 6 string better.

That's not all. I think there were a a few parlors ordered by a fellow named John Mitzel, all possibly based on the '97 collectors. There were probably more than 1000 of the collectors made in 97/98 and I see quite afew of them around on ebay etc.

I traded my 1987 Collector's to Mitzdawg for the Koa Parlor. No regrets....

The bridge on that guitar has a weird white halo around it, almost like it popped off and was re-glued.

I can assure you that the bridge is as mint as the day it left the factory.

From what I gather from old posts it has an original Custom Legend neck.

Really? I've never seen an Adamas with this white halo around the bridge.

If this is your guitar, perhaps you could post a close-up image of the bridge like what was taken for the CL Parlor?

The only owners of this guitar were myself and the gentleman who made the order John Mitzel, and neither of us sent it anywhere to have it repaired. It is how the factory made it, but I can take another picture later this weekend so it is easier to see. In the meantime, here's a picture John sent in to the tribute site, and you can see this "halo" there as well.

Fair enough.

FWIW, I'm not trying to gin your sale. I noticed a weird aspect to the photos posted and only wanted to bring it up for discussion.

I understand Dan, and I wasn't even going to chime in on this thread until it was suggested that the bridge had popped off and was reglued. I'm trying not to jump to the defensive as I've heard nothing but great things about you, and it just now feels that I have to prove something I know not to be true, which is difficult as I am not as much of an expert as many other people on here are. So I'm not sure what to say, because it is there, but to me it is not an indication of damage or of the bridge being reglued as it wasn't. I honestly never even noticed it until it was brought up here.

So I looked a bit closer and noticed that in the right lighting it also shows up in a couple of other locations as well. So maybe it just left the factory this way? I also reached out to John Mitzel this week to make sure, and he confirmed that in his possession nothing was removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired. So the only owners of this Parlor were John and I, and neither of us had anything removed, replaced, adjusted, or repaired.

So I’m not quite sure what else to say now. I realize I'm still somewhat of a new member here, and if my character/honesty was ever in question please refer to Mark in Boise or Nancy who know me quite well. And please feel free to contact John as well if you know him to confirm any of this. Though I know he doesn't hop on here as he once did.

(That's also a dog hair below the bridge in the first picture, not a crack or scratch, in case anyone was wondering)

Sam,

Thanks for the pics and info. As you say, it's probably just the combination of camera angle, lighting, reflectivity and color of the surface that makes this visible.

FWIW, bridges pop off sound boards and are re-glued with alarming regularity. This isn't a bad thing. In fact, that's why Ovation started bolting down the bridges on stained wood tops. The bridge popped off my 1619 one night after I re-built it. It made a heck of a racket, scaring the pet birds and sleeping wife.

I wasn't questioning your character or honesty.

GLWTS.

Dan

When not being played, is it usually hanging on the wall or sitting on a stand (instead of being stored in a case)?
If so, that "halo" might just be dust that doesn't get easily picked up when wiping off the guitar?

I played that guitar and never noticed what you are talking about. I wasn't examining it with any eye toward buying it, but with admiration for an extremely rare guitar. It's stunning in both looks and sound.
