Hi

Would anyone have a machine head or set of six for an Ovation Balladeer Model No. 1639, c early 1980's? After 35 years one of the heads has started to slip when tightening. They are Schaller, two-screw fixing, black and chrome. I don't want to replace with something completely different if possible. Really appreciate if anyone can help. Many thanks.

I have a set of used early 80´s Ovation gold machines with pearl-white heads from a custom legend, you can have it for the shipping costs. The black schallers with the 2 scews had a plastic housing and are lightweight, but not very good.

I'd like to thank everyone who kindly answered my message and offered their help to me. I'm delighted to report that I have received the exact machine head from the US and I can't thank the individual enough and praise the forum for such a great response. Many thanks

Hi to everyone in the Ovation Fan Club

I’ve had great fun with my Ovation Balladeer 1639 since 2017 a day great friend of the fan club reached out and helped me. Unfortunately, a machine head broke recently and is irreparable and I am trying to source a replacement to keep the guitar as authentic as I can. If anyone can assist, I’d really appreciate your help. I can send pictures if it helps.

Many thanks and Happy New Year!

Apologies that should have read “as a great friend…” Thanks

The machine head is the low E on a RH Balladeer and as described in the first thread. Thanks

Sorry Paddy, I looked. No spare tuners in my collection, matching your needs. Hope someone else can help out.

Hi All

I'm still looking for a Tuner low E for my 1639 Ovation Balladeer. Hopefully I'll be able to load up some images now. Please don't get confused by the pictures. My guitar was professionally changed 35 years ago as I'm a left handed player, so the image shows the higher strings for a LH player.

Many thanks

Paddy

If you know anyone good at welding plastic, that may be an option. I assume you still have the tuning machine.

I've got one I can send you.

PM your snail-mail address and I'll send it to you.

Where are you located? If you're inside the USA, shipping is on me. Outside the USA, you cover shipping.

Dan

Hi Dan You’re a star. Unfortunately I’m in the UK, so no issues, more than happy to cover your costs. My email is getmcnabs@btinternet.com.

Many thanks

Paddy
