Thanks for sharing that OMA. He really put that Adamas through its paces. RIP Larry.

Watching the video the OMA posted, I thought Larry was using a 12 string with only 6 strings on it. Later, I could see all 12 strings. That's the second time I thought someone couldn't possibly be playing a 12 string that fast. The first was with Glen Campbell.

...if you have an Adamas guitar with Thomastik strings and a good setup the 12string guitar is just the same as a 6 string. (Besides that I can not play that fast.I can not even THINK about playing like this). But I can advice you all to sell your house or whatever and buy a 1688 instead.
By the way, what´s the model nr. of the 12string cutaway? 1687 is the 6string, 1688 the 12string , but 1689 is a slot-head. That is a really desirable guitar. Custom made?

I'm extrapolating here but based on other adamas numbering it would be a 1588 if its an adamas I and a 1585 if its an adamas II.
1687 is dreadnaught 1587 is cutaway,1681 is dreadnaught 1581 is cutaway so 1688 dreadnaught 1588 cutaway my guess,
I'd love to own one don't know if there was a production model, may have been made special for him.
Great loss to the music community we'll miss him dearly

Interesting article with Brian Keene reflecting on playing with Larry back in the day. It includes another "Bolero" version played with 2 Adamas in the embedded link:

Didn't somebody try to sell that guitar here 5-6 years ago asking $10k or something like that?

I don't know about that, but it did show up on ebay in 2012 for just under $5K.

Larry's passing on reminded me of his OP-24 techtalk where he explains a range of tonal options you can achieve with the 3-band equalizer.
