Many have probably already seen this, but just in case...

Sweet water I heavily discounting three of the 50th anniversary models.

I haven't felt this kind of lust since Laurie Partridge.

Holy cow, what a price drop! The folklore for just USD 2,398.00 -- one of those many times in my life I wish all guitars were leftys.

Picked a 50th Legend up early yesterday morning, the remaining legends are now gone, was going for the folklore but like the countour backs, the open headstock would be nice but I dont want a round back anymore. The nut width difference is only 1.5mm! And I actually use the cutaway. The cedar top made it a no brainer. The KOA bindings look great along with the inlaid shell. Should be here Wed, I will post a review.

Well the guitar came and it's really awesome took a day to acclimate it and had to adjust the neck guys at Sweetwater over tweakedl a little bit but it may have gained a little humidity here came from Indiana down to Texas the Cedar top is exactly what I was looking for voiced very evenly. I'm going to let it settle down and put some elixir nanowebs on. I was able to pick from 3 with pictures from each one and it is a triple AAA GRADEt

The Sweetwater catalog that routinely shows up in my mailbox is like a porn magazine for musicians.. they know what it does to us.. but their website is where the real deals are found if you hit it on a regular basis. I like the way they have photos of each, individual item in their stock to choose from, and their phone sales reps are usually quite savvy and easy to talk to as well.

Love O Fair,
I agree. The pictures allowed me to pick the one that had a book matched top. The top on this thing is first rate. They sent me the pictures to have. I felt like going back and getting the Folklore with the same serial number to have the set but slowed down and took a breath....almost had me.

Patriot... Did your 50th come with a Hard Case or a Zero Gravity case.

There are Sweetwater 50th Folklores listed on eBay with ZG cases...
(not buying, just curious)

I snagged 30 of 50 today of the folklore after days of drooling and massive indecision over which of these to grab at these amazing prices. My sales guy even went and had a look at it to check there were no "demo" marks on it. As Patriot said the ability to line up the four they had on the website side by side and pick which top was awesome for a purchase over the web. Apparently here in Thursday so will try to add pic when it gets here.

Needless to say I've used the money saved to commit on another purchase so it's not like it's going to waste in a savings account ;-)

WOW! Congratulations on the great grabs everybody! I'm still dying to get my hands on my 1678av-50 10 of 50 (same as bburgs) which is still waiting for me and circulating among friends in the States. All this excitement brings up a question in my mind...

Does this mean that our beloved Os are doing well, or does this mean they are not doing so well? They seemed to have such a strong showing at NAMM; so, I'm sure DW is maneuvering through the precarious waters of guitar distribution admirably. I even saw one of the new Japan Market Adamas in a store in Tokyo last week. Perhaps, these sales are no indicator of corporate well-being? Still, one wonders...

I am not sure how the distribution channel works. Does Sweetwater buy at a price and decide the discount that determines is their profit/loss margin? Or does Ovation give rebates to distributors that cannot peddle their wares?

I remember when Ovation came out with the 40th lineup. I think most of the guitars were around 2500/1999 retail...but when it was all said and done, the remaining guitars were blown out at around 800-900, from an online wholesaler and that was pre-fender. LOL...whomever got a 40th at the end, got a killer deal.

I've bought two brand new O's from B&M stores... Gordons Music in Fairfield and LAV.
Seeing this makes me wonder why and if I'll ever pay again.
Bummer, but good for waiters

Yeah, I can definitely see how this kind of thing can discourage purchases up front. I got my 1678av-50 from Mr. Pepiak; so I know if any servicing need comes up, I'm covered, and I'm mighty satisfied with my purchase...oh, one of my buddies verified that I received 11 of 50 instead of 10 of 50 (as mistakenly mentioned before...wonder who got #10?) which is not an issue for me; but the few folks who've played my 50th all marvel and say it is well worth the $3,499 price. The best comment so far has been (not trying to start a war here or anything...just quoting) "You couldn't get a Martin, Taylor or USA Gibson that is half as good for that price!"

Just prayin' the MS gets stronger and stronger!

I came close to buying that one so I would have the pair of 30's. I have had to set mine up three times now, it is settling down. lemon oiled the fingerboard, man was it dry. made a custom shim to drop the top 5 strings but leave the bottom two where they are. Using Elixir nanweb 12's. Sat down and played it for a bout two hours today. I am impressed. I think the cedar top is awesome and I leave the EQ flat. I was on the fence until this morning when it came together.
