I went by the locally owned music store this morning to pick up a cable, but wanted to see if they still had the Adamas 1681-5 that was there the last time I was there (about a month ago).  Sure enough, it was.  I asked to see it so that I could take photos and post it here for you all.

Guitar is great in most aspects (top, epaulets, binding, gloss neck, headstock, tuners), but the first few frets need a little TLC and the fret board could use some cleaning.  The back of the neck does have a small ding (not photographed) about 2-3 millimeters in diameter.  I did not plug the guitar in to check the electronics, but guitar plays well all the way up and down the fretboard without deadspots or buzzing.  Serial number 3601 dates this guitar as a 1983 model.  Consignor has the guitar priced at $2700.

Guitar is located at Spotlight Music in Fort Collins, Colorado and is not featured on their website.  If anyone is interested, I can make time to go back to the store and plug it in to see how the electronics fare.

When I told the manager I was looking at the guitar for OFC members, he paused and chuckled, then told me about some guy named Bill who stopped in and told him a few things about it.  Maybe he will chime in and offer some insight, too.

So, the manager's walking with me to the acoustic room and acting like he is trying to remember Bill's last name. I said, "Kaman?". And his face lit up as he said yes. It sounds like Beal was sharing his knowledge of the guitar with some of the store staff, then introduced himself. I wish I could have witnessed that exchange.
