Hi there,

Really happy to find an Ovation forum, especially one that has a dedicated forum section for luthiers. I have an heirloom 1993 Ovation Balladeer in need of serious repair and essentially need an expert's opinion whether it's salvageable and what's best to try. I have a luthier friend who's willing to work on it, but he's not very experienced with Ovations so he's not very sure what's best to try.

I'll just make a post in the Bottom Feeding Luthiers section and see where that takes me.

Thanks! :D

Admins,

Can you unlock my account so that I can make new threads?

Thanks.

That's definitely one of my options, but I'd like to exhaust most of my others before I get to that one.

What does a guy have to do to be able to make new threads around here? Really would like to make some headway. Have been waiting on an unlocked account for almost a month, while most users seem to get same-day unlock.

Hey Great White Snark, you are free to post about the cabin. Regarding any work on your guitar, if it's not something you can do yourself, you really can't beat sending it back to the Factory. The main reasoning besides competitive price, is they have the tools. Their work is stellar, but some of that is because they have the right tools. Tools that are unique to Ovation. For most of us, as I have said, unless it's some minor cosmetic or simple mechanical, you just can't beat having the folks that built it, fix it.
