Not mine, but another rare Adamas.  Seller is in Thailand and the description is a bit tough to follow especially with regard to the neck/fretboard.  I can't decipher whether or not this person "fixed" the floating fret board or not.

i saw this guitar also, very pretty-rare guitar but really hard to tell what he did to the neck, keep in mind if you don't like it/have problems return shipping to Thailand is astronomical!!!
I'm going through a major headache right now because I bought a rare adamas 1688-2 off reverb, from thailand that was supposed to be mint condition but has serious problems, neck needs re-set,bridge is in bad shape and the seller doesn't want to refund enough money to fix it,I'm waiting on reverb's customer engagement dept. to help me find a solution.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with a guitar from overseas...one reason I'm hesitant to take a chance like that.  I'll be interested to see what Reverb is able to to for you.  I suppose at the very least you would be able to ship the guitar back and get your money back.  You're probably talking about $1000 worth of work at the Mothership and that's if everything else checks out.  That's too bad...those Adamas I 12 strings are awesome.

The factory made a short run of several Adamas models like this one around 99-00; the Universe...the Millenium...I think there were a few more. Millenium and Universe share the same ebony fingerboard with the correct number of planets inlaid...9!! Somewhere in the past on this forum we've discussed these models and there was a brochure snapshot with all of them on it.

If I'm not mistaken, these 20th Century Memorial guitars were for the Japanese market, only 75 pieces made of each of the four models. All were mid-depth bowl with ebony fretboard/bridge, abalone body binding, pearl tuner buttons, and the Optima preamp. The models were Sun (cherry stained waterfall Bubinga Elite cutaway), Earth (blue stained flamed maple top Elite cutaway), Universe (1597SMT Adamas in midnight cobalt blue and silver stardust), and Moon (antique nutmeg stained Custom Legend cutaway). Price new was 299,000 yen, about $2500 in today's U.S. dollars. Very cool guitars.

Sounds about right Todd - I have quite a few nice Ovations from 1967 on but the Millenium is my favorite. Just an all around great performing guitar, rugged and excellent sound especially when plugged in. It's a workhorse. Plus it's a very good conversation starter...someone is always interested in the planet inlays.

Now, if I remember right, the Millenium Adamas is a CVT with planet inlays, yes? I think I remember seeing some really cool ones in different colors on eBay back in the day.

Too many cool guitars to try to remember...
