It was located by me on Craigslist. The detective scratched his head and said he couldn't figure out how their computer system missed it. Actually one of the pics was the inside label with the number on it.


There is a total disconnect here between the police and their computer system regarding pawn shops. I suspect the same is true for Craigs List and our equivalent KSL classifieds. I guess instrument and other thefts are just not important enough for the police to follow up on. The pawn shops are required to notify the police of everything they take in and are required to get photocopies of the person's ID, but the data sits on a cold disk somewhere doing no good.

I'm glad you were watching for it yourself, and I hope the thieves are caught.

Maybe because someone stole their computer system and they are waiting to see if it will find itself.
