Hello, and thank you for allowing me to join. So like most I presume I do have a couple questions.

I've found it a bit difficult to find information about this guitar model. So, I'm hoping you can help? Questions...1. is this considered an Adamas I? 2. What does the " no. 0158-89" inside the body reference. I'm guessing the production number but not sure i.e. number 158 of that year but know clue what the 89 is for? I've tried to value it for insurance purposes at this point and the best I've found is around 1-2k if that sounds right? It was used on two tours so it has some road wear, which I assume would effect the value?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, again thank you very much. I was able to find a lot of information from your site.

On an Adamas I the first part of the number is the serial number.
0158 means it was made in 1978.
The second two digits (-89) are the Laser Vibrometer number.
Back in the 70's and 80's they were using all of that stuff that they had over at Kaman Aerospace to help them tune guitar tops.

As to price, yup. Adamas guitar easily run up above $2K.
$5K for a new one. $15K for an original Slothead.
As to wear... Your guitar is 38 years-old. So wear is expected.
How much wear, whether it has been refurbished and such will affect the price.
But only you can decide what it is worth.

We like guitar porn, so we want pictures.

Great info, thank you. I'll take some pics with my phone and figure out how to post them. I've look at many of the photos on the site and I can tell you that this isn't in as prestige condition as what I've seen. Again it's had some road wear. All cosmetic but nun the less...
