Hello everyone, I am new to Ovations and new to this site, and I kinda had a love at first site moment when i saw a 1979-1619 custom legend for sale. The good news is its kinda in my budget, the bad news is that its got some issue that i'm not sure wont turn into huge problems after i purchase, also probably why its in my budget.  I was hopeing someone out there in Ovation land might be able to give me some feedback on what i might possibley be getting myself into.

Hopefully i'll be able to load these pictures so people know what i am talking about.  Here goes nothing...

so first appearances look good

then i notice some old looking cracks below the bridge

then i notice this wierd black thing screwed in just above the bridge

then it looks like the left side of the top is starting to wrinkle a little

then i notice that the wood color for the bridge and truss rod cover dont match

and heres a few more pics

current owner says it plays and sounds great but he doesnt know if the electrics work because hes never plugged them in, and that the cracks and the black thing over the bridge were there before he recieved the guitar 15 years ago.

Anything scary jump out to you guys? or am I scrutinizing to much.  I know its hard to give an evaluation with just these pics to go on but would you guys not be worried about any of this stuff? Would you pull the trigger for 500-600 bucks?  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

looking forward to being here, also just picked up a standard elite 2778ax but that guy has no issues... yet lol

thanks again!

You appear to be pointing to pictures on your desktop, you need to either upload them (which you can't do until your a full member) or upload them to a host like photobucket or facebook and link to them.

I wouldn't buy it for that price.
