Oh my God......

An Elite in the best dress of ever.

I'm sure that every OFC member would grab it. Isn't it?

That's one honey of a guitar. The cost to own that baby is out of my league.

With the factory up and running again and the cream of the crop (new) going for sub 4K, it seems a little wishful to start out at that price point.

I'm not the price police so I'll just cross my fingers and hope he gets what he's asking. That would certainly be a high water mark.

Value to a potential buyer is a very personal and subjective thing. There is a (very) short list of Ovations that would separate me from five grand and no disrespect but a black 87 Collector isn't on that list.

Thanks OMA! Did not find it because it doesn't say elite in the description...

I loved black guitars all my life, possibly due to Gibson's Les Paul Custom Black Beauty, and I like the -5 O's as well....

This was a nice run beside the natural version of 87C. But the price is... uhhhh.... optimistic!?

At least we got to see the pictures...

The 87C is one of the best and the black ones comprised a small percentage of them. I'm not a fan of black guitars, mostly because I can't keep them clean, so the relative rarity was not a draw for me. My 87C is now my daughter's and I hope that the market value skyrockets so she can sell it for a bunch of money after I die.

Nice. Very nice. Really nice. Extra nice. BUT... if I were to send Pepiak $5k and tell him to choose something(s) nice to send back, when the box arrived I'm pretty certain its contents would make me happier than this would.

PS: Right, Al?

She won't. She also has my Mom's piano, but sold the Roland keyboard I bought her. She has some respect for the sentimental value of musical gifts.

So she will probably keep it even 'after'. Maybe the grandchildren won't....

Guess my guitars will all go to ebay someday....
