If it can't come when you call it, then its not worth naming... That's my take on naming inanimate objects.

The only one that's got a name is the 47 reissue - Big Red. Mostly for the question "Dad, can I play Big Red?"

Does "My-favorite-piece-of-crap-with-all-the-cracks-in-it" count?

Yeah, I keep selling them and gave a couple away, still got 12.
I keep buying 'em too, apparently.

i've recently started to call my Legend Lucky. I was more convinced to scar, but one day after someone posted that name in topic where i've shown pictures of my Legend, i had that guitar in work.
Legend was laying on the floor with case open and my co worker tried to kill a fly, and he accidently hit hanging from the roof plant pot, which crashed just 5 cm from the case.
You have to believe me, those 3 seconds when that pot was falling down were longest in my life.

Nope. Haven't named anything but my daughter and a couple of dogs that weren't smart enough to come without one.

Been given names a few times but that's prob'ly for another thread.

No I don't name them but some get names. The Collings OM3 is Mevinn (maple, engleman, vintage neck(string spacing) natural)
The Collings CW-28 was Clarence (as in Clarence White)
The all maple tele is Whitey
The gold duco paint tele is GoldieT
A Hamer custom is Fat Boy (an arch top cutaway with full les paul thickness specs)
The National custom is 59 Fins (59 caddy engraving)
A National Style O is the Venician (per the engraving)
National Delphi is Sonny (Sonny Landreth name inlayed in the F/B)
The rest are just called by what they are, (CJ41, OM42, D-18, etc) much easier to keep track of them

I don't give them names, except the ones given to them by the manufacturer. Always refer to them as "its" when they're in their stands or cases. When playing I do think of them as girls, but no names.

My Pacemaker is named "Pace". I know. Really original.
My custom Balladeer is named "Katrina" because she came out of the hurricane from the "gulf coast" and I have so much respect for the work of everyone that put the life back into that guitar.

My CL1158 (soon to be The Trader's) was named "Ol Blingy" by a certain man from the Hawaiian Isles.

It fits it well.

Captain, My Deacon 12 is black.

I recently bought a UK11 from a guy in NYC who said the guitars name was Julie.
Didn't really look like a Julie to me
