Adamas 1687-8 Reissue. Serial number puts its build date in 2007. Very good condition. Beautiful, big tone! Looks great! Top and binding are excellent. Slight blemish near 12th fret (I think this could be waxed and buffed, not sure what finish is on the neck but it looks like wax), some fretwear on a few frets on the high B and E, but smooth and playable. Only $2189 shipped.
I'd love to work out a trade. Here's my want list:

Location: Pittsburgh | Very nice! I was briefly tempted to PM you, but I really love my FD-14. Probably moot anyway, since it looks like Thunderbolt is all over it. |

Your post, plus two PMs...that makes three who decided to hang on to their FD-14s. |

Location: Pennsylvania | I found and promptly bought an Adamas 1680, so now I'm hoping to sell this now rather than trading.
But I'd totally still trade the 1687 for an excellent-condition:
- Balladeer Deluxe Reissue +$800
- Josh White Reissue +$900 |

I guess quite different from the 1684, but is it much better? |

You mean FD14 vs Adamas 1680? They're darn similar: same scale length, both 12-frets, same deep bowl and bowl material. But a used 1680 is likely to cost twice what an FD14 would. Yikes. Am I nuts? Haha.
The 1680 arguably has the better preamp, and is a bit more resistant to humidity changes. I'd bet the FD14 sounds a bit more traditional and pretty, and I'd bet the 1680 is a bit louder and more responsive. It came down to this: the part of me that's always wanted to own an Adamas or two, and the fact that the rare chance to get a 12-fret Adamas popped up.
As for the 1680 vs the 1687, they're different animals, and I strongly prefer 12-fret guitars and the wider nut of the 1680. |
