will anyone confess to ever playing or perhaps even owning a dillion electric guitar? if so, what is your opinion? harmony centralites seem to love 'em.

I won't even confess to having ever heard of them.

But the string-drop thingies look pretty cool.

I've never heard of them either. There's a not-so-stellar review here .

I own a Turser, which I think is close and probably came out of the same factory..

but it's a neck-through prototype that never made it to production, that was gutted of all imported hardware and electronics, which was replaced with CTS pots, orange drops, Switchcraft jacks/switches, Schaller bridge/tuners, wilkinson roller nut, and EMG pickups....

now it's a nice guitar... and anything similar with a G or an F on it would have cost about 5 times what I have in this one.

Howie has some Dillion's/Samick's/Turser's and they all seem to be about the same in build quality and cheap hardware.(at least to me)

danged time out on editing!

all hardware/screws are now gold tho... with Keystone Schaller tuners, flamed maple pickup rings, and the fine tuner bridge(tp456 now at woody's in the parts box) has been replaced with the Schaller wrap-around type.

the turser's are chinese. the dillion's are korean.
the turser's get nowhere near the accolades the dillion's get. i've played turser's at a local shop and was not impressed at all, even at the price level. there are no dillion dealers here so that's why i am fishin'.

I don't know about the electrics, but I have played (and sold them for awhile) Dillion acoustics and they were pretty nice. For the money however, I think a person could probably do a little better. I liked them for the different treatment of soundholes that were on some models.

My first electric was a Hondo II. Noone's heard of them, either.

It was a gorgeous wine-red LP copy with serious balls and a great player for a $125 guitar. Nowhere near as nice as the Breadwinner/Deacon LTD that I traded it in for, tho. Still, I wish I still had it.

I had four Dillon electrics at one time- and I loved those guitars...sounded just as good as my more expensive guitars - didn't cost much either. I had one that was a PRS copy - even had the flying birds on the fret board - they were sued over that one. I almost miss them now.

You can't go wrong with one of them Lanaki

That is great Randy - I hope it is good as the ones I had. You will have to show the pics when you get her. ;)
