Location: Marlton, NJ | I was watching a Led Zeppelin concert on VH1 classics earlier - amazing show - I'm guessing from sometime in the late 70s? But that's not where I saw the Ovations.
I happened to leave the channel on and up next was Kiss Unplugged. I told my wife to change the channel... but then I noticed that one of the guitarists (sorry... I don't know his name - it's not Ace though) was playing a beautiful O. I don't know what model it is - but it's some kind of exotic wood - cutaway, Adamas fret markers with the Ovation logo on the headstock. I'm guessing it's one of the collectors series or a custom job. Then he switched off to another O - looks black - same thing - cutaway, adamas fret markers and Ovation logo on the headstock. It's actually not a bad show.
They played a commercial for August Rush - they're having a guitar giveaway contest... unfortunately it's for a Gibson. |

| Jimmy Page had an USA made ovation doubleneck on the 96-97 No Quarter tour. He used that on a bunch of songs. There was a fantastic bunch of vid's from these guy's on You tube before they were nixed by the Zeppelin home office. Great vidio of Gallows Pole filmed outside on a rocky beach and pagey using that doubleneck.
I do not understand why they would spend the money to film all this stuff....whilst knowing there is a market for this footage and then not release it for sale? WTF? |
