ATLANTA—UPS, a package delivery carrier and provider of global supply chain services, rolled out its 2007 list rates for ground shipments.
The new rates are comprised of an average 4.9 percent increase for ground shipments and a net average increase of 4.9 percent for all air express and U.S. origin International shipments, according to a press release issued by the company earlier today.
The company added that this increase is based on a 6.9 percent base rate increase, with a two percent reduction in its current fuel surcharge. These rates will be posted on the company’s Website on December 1, with specific information on pricing changes for products and zones. And they will take effect on January 1, 2007.
Earlier this month, UPS competitor FedEx said it would raise 2007 rates by 5.5 percent, with a 5.5 percent increase in standard list rates that will be off-set by a two percent reduction in its fuel surcharge rates. |
