Back in the 70's, before I played guitar, I always had picks in that little jeans pocket. Back then there were many music stores in Boston (on Mass. Ave) that gave away free picks... I rarely went into any of those stores but somehow ended-up with one-or-three in my pocket. It seem that in those days most of those picks were the Tortoise-shell, breakable kind. So when the musician said, "Damn! Does anyone have a pick?" I had one. All good hippies carried guitar picks.

Habit. Then I got tired of having to take the change out of my pocket every time I went through a security scanner, so I just left it and the pick at home in my "pocket change" dish. My wife decided I wasn't using the change, so she took it and left the pick. Finally, I put it back up in the guitar room with the rest of my picks.

Life can be tough sometimes It has been at times, but at least I wasn't emptying my pockets before a cavity search.

That's OK because when I went into the acoustic room to putz there was one of the employees in there finger picking songs like classical gas so I just humbly listened to him and was awed. GWB

I can't think of anything pc to add to this.... I carry a pick, things went horribly wrong when I tried a bow.

Now I know I should carry a couple different Picks...and put them in that tiny little pocket (a great idea since I never knew what that pocket was for). I'm 56 and it feels good to get a little bit smarter every day. It's possible I may have skipped a couple days (or weeks during my teen years) but it feels good to know I'm smarter today than at any time in my life. Now if I could just remember where I put my wallet, keys and phone!
