Someone gave me a Solid body Celebrity. (Korean made?) a few years ago. It was trashed. I set it up as best I could and hadn't played another solid body until last weekend when I checked out a whole pile of awesome guitars to possibly trade for.

There were only 2 guitars that were clearly nicer to play than mine - Les Paul and a Telecaster custom with 2 humbuckers.
All the rest left something to be desired.

I'm going to keep my Ovation. Get it set-up proper, some frets fixed, maybe electronics.

Is there anything I should know?
Is it a possible gem that I shouldn't mess with?
I have found very little info on it.

Actually, I wasn't aware there WAS a solid-body celebrity. Got any pictures?

I don't know about artman's guitar, but...

(I've wanted one of these, but I settled on my X9)

Just bought one myself here in Oz to add to my collection.
Celebrity
I believe very underrated.

Nice grab James! I've had a few celeb acoustics, and they were very nice players. Never got to try an electric though. That one looks sweet.

Congrats, artman. I too was given an electric celeb earlier this year. I posted about it but was unable to locate the original post using the search function. There's a couple of pics of it in my gallery if you're interested.

A mate of mine picked it up in a pawn shop and it had been sitting in his cupboard gathering dust. It needs a bit of work and eventually I'll get around to getting something done. He'll probably want it back then I suppose.

Good luck with yours.

Looks exactly the same as the one I've got here James...although in better condition.

Same as James' and the red one in Arthur's add. Neck plate is plain though - Just has the serial #712457 that I can't trace.

Could never really figure out the KMD bridge though. That's why the action hasn't been what it should be.
