Few months ago, MusicMike launched a topic telling how much he loves white Ovation's, then showing us some pics of his nice 6P's. I always loved this color too, however it is very hard to find here in France. I wrote i would be glad enough to find one some day. You know what it is, we sometimes write things without waiting for an answer... So i was very amazed when Mike kindly answered he would be happy to help in my search of such a 1868.
And the dream today comes true !
Mike finally found one on eBay in excellent shape, not far from his home. The case however was not an OHSC, and i was reluctant to make the guitar fly over the ocean without a good protection. Mike found a nice SSB OHSC, and both items were shipped to his home. He carefully packed the guitar in the right case then slipped the whole thing in a strong cardbox with dumpening material. One week later the guitar comes to my home in perfect condition.
Mike wrote me this guitar was waiting for me, i think he is right! It was hardly played, in mint condition, the sound however is warmer and different than the one of my 1868-4.
This is a nice story, based on friendship, and love for Ovation Guitars as well.
Mike i want to thank you for your kindness, your available time, and the care you take, you really are a man of great value. I don't forget the OFC too, without the existence of this place, that wouldn't be possible.
Here are some pics for your eyes, and Mike i sent you a little ''souvenir'' for your ears yesterday. Be patient, it will take some days to go to your home ;)

I was very happy to be able to assist in the search...these are not common and to find one in this beautiful condition is so great! Arnaud plays very well and adding this hoped for Elite to his collection brings his smile out through his music as well as his face! My pleasure, Mon Amie!

Thanks to all !
Yes, this is really a great story.
Two days ago, I recorded one mp3 with this guitar, the song is called ''Chester'' composed by Craig Dobbins. If you want, you can hear the sound of the 1868-6P HERE
Find the line Chester (the first one at the present time, but perhaps not for a long time), click on the yellow disc under the title ''telecharger'' (= download) ... Hope you will like this music.
All the best!

Arnaud, like yourself, Mike did me a wonderful favor too.

I was looking for, and had bid on an Adamas 1685. Well, I lost the bid and called Mike to cry about it. He had just purchased two 1685's from the Bay, and offered me my choice. A week later and I recieved a beautiful 1685-5 12'er.

Mike is a true guitaritarian and humanitarian. We can only aspire to be as warm and generous.

Enjoy your beautiful O!
