Location: New York, NY | Hughie Thomasson, founding member of the Outlaws (wrote most of their hit songs), and also was a guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, passed away this September from a heart attack. He was 55. |

Location: Blue Ridge Mountains | A great guy: we hooked up in '77 at the Roanoke Virginia Convention Center when they were opening for ZZ Top: they stayed at the Holiday Inn we were playing at across the street. We had a great time after the concert and before at the sound check; the Outlaws had a great Three Guitar Front!
