I strongly resemble that remark TJ...uhh..wait a minute...anyway tha loss of hair came early and often (mid twenties) and I was always a bit large (family trait) SO YA PLAY THA CARDS THAT WERE DEALT YA! Sorry didn't mean ta yell.

I am thankful for the many new friends that I have met and have yet to meet, and the knowledge that I have gained from the generous members of the OFC. No better place around! Do or don't overindulge and don't forget what this day is for. Enjoy your families while you can, and never take them for granted...Thanks OFC family, have a great day!

Jim

I second that: Family, Music, Friends and (yes) a drink for the Old Country with its baggae and sorrow--in my case Russia.

...I'm thankful too, that I woke up this morning. As my wife chides me: "you ain't OLD, you're FOSSILIZED!" (on the otherside of 63).

Thanks, Lanaki! BTW: as I try to capture the righteous sound of my new 1581 to post here, I'd like to ask: how did you get your excellent sound for your YouTube clip? Was is just the camera or did you "splice" a real audio track onto to the film? When Jeff and I did the few clips on YouTube we had help from a video guy and a sound guy: nothing I'm very familiar with.....

no magic there. the sound is what the cheap sony videocamera captured. well, i did use an external mic that fits on to the camera's hotshoe. i was really coveting the guitar you got from stephen so i am looking forward to hearing you play it for us.

Ah. #11: THOU SHALT NOT COVET THY BROTHER'S ADAMAS!
(There is a theory that the original names were ADAMAS and Eve... The sly serpent was after a rare item there in the garden.)
Yes, Lanaki, it is an AWESOME axe. Plugged in it shakes the rafters. I love the dark low end AND... what is equally important, for the first time in my life I can really explore the upper octave, all the way to Eb up there. I realize that I don't even know how to play in the mandolin-type space. Going where no man has gone before!

Fantastic Dobro. welcome to the Adamas family! And enjoy the feeling! I'm writing this from the road: a hotel in Yorktown Va. I just finished having a family Thanksgiving w/ my Mom and family! Haven't had family food in many years...nothing else tastes the same! I'll post a pic or two when I get home this weekend.
All the Best to you all!

;)
