For the children that I have been given; the place in life I find myself at 55; the friends from all over the world that I have come to know over the past year through the OFC; Ovation Instruments for countless hours of music and stress reduction; for the diversity on this board which usually finds a way to come together in the end; For a country where we are free to live and prosper; for the men and women (like my DAD) who fought so we san enjoy just that; and for my dear wife who lets me indulge my passions: I am truly thankful!
 :D ;)

Mike & Randy,

Except for the age,( I am 63), My sentiments exactly.

With retailers pushing The Christmas season on us earlier and earlier, Thanksgiving could become the forgotten holiday,(except for the food :D )

I'm right behind you, Mike. If my wife doesn't kill me first, I'll turn 55 next Spring in time for the factory tour. The sparks flew last night when I told her that I was the high bidder on 2 Ovations. After she went ballistic I told her it was for Ovation guitar straps at $1.25 each. Almost had a redwood 2001 collector's on Sunday, but someone sniped me and got it for $511. Worth much more than that, but not worth incurring SWMBO's wrath, unless I do it intentionally.

As I approach 55 (in March), I agree with Mike et al, but I must also add my thankfulness for the two very dear friends who have walked with me through the valley of the shadow, comforted me in each new loss, made me part of their family celebrations--just basically been there when I needed someone to be.
And of course, for Ava and Laney, my granddaughters.

I'm thankful for having a great wife who puts up with my ass! I'm also thankful for a fun and interesting family, my kids are not what one would probably call normal, but they have always been fun and interesting!

I'm thankful, for the friends and guitars I've gathered from the OFC.

But, as there has been way too much drama and tragedy in my family this year, so I am truly thankful that this year is almost over!

I hear ya Steve.
Boy there sure a lot of old guys around here. (oh wait, I'm going to be 57 next month) My son turns 10 on the 28th. He's happy to be in double digits. I am thankful for my family and even the bad times that have happened lately. It makes you realize when the good times show up. God bless you all and have a great Thanksgiving. Don't eat too much or you'll end up looking like me...or Beggin.
