Hello- I hope someone can help me. I need to sell my 1975 Legend 1617 (I purchased in 1977). I no longer need it but not sure how much to ask. I wore it out too- so I just did a fret job because I could not in good conscience sell it that way... it's in excellent shape overall. Anyone have a price guide and care to share? Thanks!

Assuming that you have the original case the price is about $350 for the condition as described.

That's about right. I recently picked up a 1978 vintage in good shape, with OHSC, for $380.

Rule of thumb with lots of exceptions, 20-30 year old common Ovations, (legends, balladeers, pacemakers, stuff like that...) should be worth about the same as they cost new back in the day.

So, a mid 70's legend used to cost what? $350?

If you want a more accurate guess, I would suggest contacting the Price Police.

Thanks so much to all that responded. Yes the case is in good shape. I forgot what I paid- (a senior moment), but thought it was about 450. (maybe I paid too much eh?) The model number I now notice is 1617-04 made in Hartford. What does the -04 stand for (or is it a dot)?

Thanks again.

The -04 is the color code. In this case, natural. (-01 is sunburst, -02 is red, -05 black, -08 is blue etc.)
