Location: South Windsor Connecticut | I want to tone down the highs and lower the lows on my 68 1111-4. I always use P/B strings, what else can I do to quite some of the high's?
I had the MS already replace the saddle so I could replicate with new material. Any suggestions on that or pins?

I have heard that the cheapest and simplest way to change the sound of your guitar is to change the strings.
Try Silk-n-Steel or Silk-n-Phosphor.
If you go to the D'Addario and/or Martin (or whomever) websites they describe what each family of strings are supposed to sound like.
Just look for something described as "mellow".
Heavier gauge high strings may produce the desired sound.
You may not have to move to heavier strings on the whole set...
Just buy some single heavier gauge strings for the B and E.
I am just guessing, y'know?

I was actually looking at my Larrivee and thinking about ebony pins for that so I am in fact confused. |

No worries, no holes were drilled nor animals hurt. Just me looking at my Larrivee hanging on the wall and asking about non existent bridge pins for my Ovation. |
